The battlefront is expanding in the upcoming summer event ‘War of the Realms’: Marvel has announced another tie-in series in the four-issue “War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas,” which will feature a team consisting of Marvel’s most high profile Asian heroes, imports from the Marvel Future Fight mobile game, and the introduction of three new ones. The tie-in, which begins in May, will see the New Agents of Atlas take on Sindr, Immortal Queen of Muspelheim, on the Asian continent. It will be written by Greg Pak, illustrated by Gang-Hyuk Lim, and feature covers by Bill Tan.

The series begins when Amadeus Cho (going by codename Brawn over in “Champions”) tries to assemble a team to take down Sindr after she’s conquered Korea and most of Asia. Answering the call are a number of Marvel mainstays including Shang-Chi, Silk, and Agent Jimmy Woo from the original Agents of Atlas. The heroes Luna Snow and Crescent & Io from the Marvel Future Fight mobile game are also making their in-universe debut alongside the new Chinese superheroes Aero and Sword Master, and Filipino heroine Wave.

Created by Jeff Parker and Leonard Kirk, the original “Agents of Atlas” miniseries came out in 2006 and featured characters published by one of Marvel’s predecessors, Atlas Comics. The original team of Namora, Venus, Marvel Boy, Gorilla Man, M-11, and Jimmy Woo all appeared in comics published by Atlas in the 1950s, and were retconned as having been a team during that time period. They last appeared in a one-shot tie-in to 2015’s “Secret Wars,” written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by Steve Pugh.

This announcement follows on a number of other tie-ins Marvel has revealed this week ahead of next week’s solicitations, including the three “Strikeforce” one-shots, “Spider-Man & the League of Realms,” and the two-issue Gail Simone/Paulo Villanelli “Tony Stark: Iron Man” tie-in. Look for all these and more when “War of the Realms” begins in April.
