Warren Ellis To Write Osborn Once Again

As you may have noticed, Kelly Sue DeConnick is writing a mini-series about Osborn in prison. And guess what? Former Thunderbolts writer Warren Ellis is returning to write a back-up strip for each issue.

Ellis brought Norman Osborn to prominence post-Civil War with Thunderbolts, as Osborn weaseled his way out of jail in Civil War: Front Line and ended up leading a team of government sanctioned super villains. Following Secret Invasion, Osborn became top dog in charge, leading to the Dark Reign of Marvel’s history. That all ended with Siege, when the good guys won and the Heroic Age began.

Now that he’s in jail, people have been wondering – what’s been up with him? This is where the Osborn mini came in. What we didn’t know is that Ellis would be returning to write a few back-ups – which is of course incredibly exciting. His final moments in Thunderbolts always felt a bit stunted to most of us, lasting just 12 issues before passing the torch to Christos Gage for Secret Invasion. It’ll be definite fun to see more from Ellis channeling his brain into that of one of the most villainous characters of the Marvel U.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
