Ever wanted to see a comic book artist draw a page live in front of you? If you have (and, let’s be real, who hasn’t?) then you might be in luck as ComixTribe have announced that “SCAM” writer and artist Joe Mulvey will be doing exactly that! The event will take place at Carmine Street Comics in New York City as part of their Storefront Artists Program designed to engage comic book readers with comic book creators.

Honestly, I think this is a great idea. If I wasn’t half way around the world from New York, I’d totally attend because who doesn’t want to see a comic artist engaging in their craft? I envy anyone who does attend. Mulvey will be drawing the last page of his “SCAM” miniseries from ComixTribe so fans of the series will be in for even more of a treat.
The event is set to take place at Carmine Street Comics on Friday, June 7 at 4:00pm and should last until 7:00pm. If you can, this seems like something you should definitely attend. ComixTribe Press Release
June 3, 2013 — ComixTribe announced today that writer/artist Joe Mulvey, “the most dangerous man in comics,” will be drawing the final page of his acclaimed mini-series SCAM at Carmine Street Comics this coming Friday, June 7th in New York City. Beginning at 4:00 pm EST, Mulvey will begin penciling the 138th and final page of his first ComixTribe miniseries, before your very eyes! The live art event is expected to last until 7:00 pm.
“Some animals belong in a zoo,” said new ComixTribe public relations manager Sam LeBas. “And Joe Mulvey is the kind of animal who should be observed doing what he does best. Just stay behind the glass, and don’t feed the artist, kiddies.”
This event is part of Carmine Street Comics’ Storefront Artists Program, an ongoing effort to engage comic readers with comic creators. Carmine Street Comics is located between Seventh Avenue and Bleecker in the West Village.
“I can’t wait for everyone to see the finale of SCAM! It sets up the entire universe for much bigger things to come. Thanks to everyone who’s given SCAM, ComixTribe and myself a chance,” said Mulvey. “I’m also in deep with loan sharks, so I needed to finish this up before they take my hands.”
ComixTribe announced last week that the SCAM finale will be a double-sized issue at a standard $3.99 cover price. The finale will feature two variant covers: one featuring a flip cover for Issues #4 and #5, and another featuring a stunning wrap-around cover by Mulvey. Carmine Street Comics fans will be among the first to see those new covers.

BIG SCAM ANNOUNCEMENT AT BOSTON COMIC CON
While the first SCAM mini-series will conclude this fall, it’s only the beginning for the franchise.
“We have a huge announcement planned for the Boston Comic Con (rescheduled for August 3-4, #BOSTONSTRONG, be there!) It’s the most ambitious project ComixTribe has tackled to date…and it is SCAM related,” said James.
“My lips are sealed,” Mulvey added. “All I’m going to say is that the crew is about to get a whole lot bigger!”
