Marvel is certainly excited to bring to the screen the grand adventures of their biggest property, and today they released a new trailer for the upcoming Joss Whedon-directed film, The Avengers. Of course, the trailer today essentially highlights one key element of the film: EXPLOSIONS!

That’s right: you may have had fun watching that hour-long fight scene in Transformers 3, but it looks like the Avengers is set to take home the award for “most explosions and destruction caused in a single film”, which is sure to upset Bay at some point. Granted, it makes sense — super heroes often cause destruction in their wake, which is a discussion held in may comic books (particularly in “Civil War” and “Siege”, let alone “Fear Itself”), and now that ruckus is translated onto the big screen for all your popcorn eating enjoyments.

So sit back, grab a pack of Smart Food or something, and prepare yourself for the upcoming summer blockbuster. The film comes out May 4th of this year, and is sure to be a loud and raucous film experience.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
