I suppose this is all spoiler-tastic, so in the event you haven’t seen the movie and don’t know the classic story of Captain America, now would certainly be the time to look away.

So: SPOILER ALERT! EVERYTHING THAT FOLLOWS IS A SPOILER!

Now that that’s out of the way, Captain America: The First Avenger ended with Cap being brought to our time in a similar but different manner to the classic tale. After being picked up by Nick Fury in Times Square, the movie ended on a bit of a down note with Cap making note that he is late for his date (sadness all around).

Of course, the exciting bit of news is that after the credits, we got a teaser for the Avengers film – and now we have some high-res images of it! While the above footage doesn’t show the full ordeal, it does give you a taste (albeit brief) of things to come.

For some screencaps and an additional surprise, click after the cut! But remember: spoilers lurk below.

And just because you’re nice:

Keep your eyes peeled for a Robin Sparkles appearance!

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
