What Is Bryan Hitch Working On?

If there is one thing that Mark Millar is certainly helping to push, it’s creator owned comics from big names. Working with a bevy of huge talents in the industry, Millar is putting out creator owned title after creator owned title – or, at least, he’s talking about them. And Mark Millar is about to get a heck of a lot more attention soon as the upcoming Avengers movie comes out next year, which is based (somewhat in part) on his and Bryan Hitch’s Ultimates.

What has resulted in Bryan Hitch making the following comment on the Millarworld message board:

These are real treats for sure but like Mark says, the real pay-day is your own stuff, like Wanted, Kick-Ass and Nemesis. So next summer when Ulti… er… Avengers is making a billion dollars it will be beyond cool to be there as a fan seeing our little Marvel book brought to life but the coolest thing will be that you’ll also already know about what I’m doing right now.

So what exactly is Hitch working on? Bleeding Cool speculates that this is the previously discussed Olympus book from him and Millar, but it’s also popular that Hitch could be working on his own solo material. A lot of great artists have been giving a shot to both writing and arting books lately, and with Hitch himself being the pioneer of widescreen action comics (with the Authority by him and Ellis), it’s highly possible that he could just be working on his own brand new title.

Either way, signs point to Hitch working on something creator owned. So, what is it?

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
