What The Heck Is PROJECT GROOT?

That is the exact title of a Marvel blog post made this morning. The blog post is very teasing in that there is no answers to any questions, and simply made as a tease. Some nuggets of information are given, though:

– it’s a bunch of projects that all work together

– collectively, these projects are a huge expansion to one of our most popular on-line concoctions

– it’s a chance to play with some of the more cutting-edge technologies out there in the digital space

– you’ll see Groot-related releases (twigs?) coming in over the next few months and into next year

Hmm. Well for those of you living under a cosmic rock, Groot is one of the Guardians of the Galaxy, a group currently wrapped up in the events of the Thanos Imperative. Groot is also a fan favorite (and a one time writer for Multiversity Comics!). So while we don’t know anything about what will happen after the Thanos Imperative ends, we do know that a) there will be a Rocket Raccoon/Groot mini and b) there will be cataclysmic reactions to the events and c) it now possibly maybe involves whatever this Project Groot thing is.

Or perhaps all cosmic stuff is going digital? There is mention of “cutting-edge technologies”… maybe Guardians of the Galaxy: the motion comic is right around the corner?

Leave your speculations in the comments below!

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
