As reported at Variety (via Comic Book Resources), it looks like the stars have really aligned for Marvel’s Cinematic U: the writer/director of the 3rd highest grossing film of all time, Joss Whedon, will stay for Avengers 2. Not only that, but it looks like Whedon is going to help develop Marvel’s new television show, a show whose existence has been rumored since SDCC that would deal with the same universe as their films.
We don’t know what the show or the second film will be about, but the rumors are SHIELD and an “Infinity Gauntlet” adaptation (obviously). We’ll let you know more details as they arise, but for now fans of comic book movies have a great reason to get their nerdy dances on.
