Hot out of the inbox, Marvel’s shared the official map of Battleworld in anticipation of “Secret Wars” next year, and it’s likely enough to drive the speculation of Marvel fans through the roof. Take a look at it above, but there are a lot of interesting takeaways we can make from it.

– What is The Wall?: Item #41 on the list separates the vast majority of Battleworld from its southernmost areas, including The Deadlands, Perfection and New Xandar. Why does The Wall separate those three from the rest of the world?

– This map confirms a few new areas, most notably – at least to me – the previously unannounced lands connected to Marville (*shudder*), 2099, Weirdworld (!!), and the Marvel UK universe in King James’ England

– For the uber paranoid, there are lands specifically tied to Spider-Man, the X-Men, Avengers, Cosmic Marvel, and hell, even Howard the Duck, Doctor Strange and Iron Fist get their own lands. But nothing for the Fantastic Four

– This is the most interesting thing to me: Marvel, particularly Tom Brevoort and Joe Quesada have publicly stated their dislike of calling Marvel’s main universe “Earth 616”, yet it’s referenced multiple times as 616 here in Manhattan

– Greenland is just Greenland, which is pretty hilarious

Those are my big takeaways from this map, though, besides the fact I’d really like to know what the three classified lands are. What are your big takeaways here? Does this get your mind racing for the possibilities of this event, or is it too early for you to start revving your engines? Let us know in the comments, and take a look at the teaser below which continues to at least want to make readers feel like they’re starting this whole thing over soon.
