Multiversity may have named DC the third best publisher of 2014 (much to some readers and writers chagrin), but that doesn’t mean our staff isn’t still skeptical of many of their choices and their titles. “Convergence”, their 2015 mega event, for one has driven a lot of hopeful skepticism around our offices, but today, ComicVine exclusively revealed the solicit and cover art to the first (zero) issue, and, well, here are some of our actual responses:
“As a lapsed DC enthusiast, ‘Where do worlds go when they die?’ is a really, really good hook.
“I’m hyped as shit for Convergence and whatever comes after.”
“That solicit is the hypest thing I’ve heard from a DC title in years, holy shit.”
“I’m hyped too and I swore I wouldn’t buy any of it.”
“10/10”
On staff full of skeptics of both DC and event comics, we’re now all aboard the Convergence hype train. Whether that means we’re secretly in a bottle universe like the rest of the old, forgotten DC universes or we’ve just been drugged by Dan Didio is uncertain, but is it just us or is “Convergence” sounding…fun? Check out the solicit below.

Advance solicit • On sale APRIL 1 • 40 pg, FC, $4.99 US RATED TWhere do worlds go when they die?
The Earthquakes felt round the Multiverse, Superman’s lost days after “Doomed,” the World’s End – all these points will converge as the history of the DCU is spun from a new perspective, the perspective of a mad god and his arrogant child. The biggest story in DC history ties into literally every DC story ever told – and it all begins here.
Kingdom Come, Red Son, Wild West Justice League, Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew – all the worlds you remember can still be found on Telos. Everything matters. Every story matters.
Don’t miss the start of DC’s April/May 2015 event with this special issue!
Now that sounds like an event. Whether or not it ends up being any good is uncertain, but it is hellaciously intriguing, and as one of our writers said, it does have a hell of a hook. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m excited for this issue. Here’s hoping it isn’t DC’s largest April Fool’s Day joke ever.
