In a teaser released today from Marvel, apparently an X-Man will die in this month’s issue of X-Force. While we knew someone would die in Second Coming, we didn’t know it would be coming so fast. The image, as depicted by superb artist Tom Raney, shows our candidates for death: Colossus, unknown female X-Men (Husk?), Iceman, Angel, Emma Frost, Nightcrawler, and Cable.
I’m going to go ahead throw out Colossus (because he just came back, really), unknown female X-Men (because of…who cares really?), and Emma Frost (it just isn’t happening). To me, Nightcrawler and Cable are by far the most likely: Cable because of how it would affect Cyclops and Hope, Nightcrawler just because he’s being positioned as such. I’d put my money on Kurt, as it would work as a changing of the guard move (he was highly questioning Scott’s tactics) and it works perfectly with how other titles have been almost paying their respects lately (see: last week’s Wolverine Origins).
Which sucks, because Kurt is one of my favorite X-Men. It’d be a shame to see him BAMF for the last time. What’s your take folks?
