We’ve been pretty stoked on Wiebe and Rossmo’s upcoming mini, “Debris” and have been for a while now. A four-issue story debuting in July, “Debris” is a “post apocalyptic series where humanity has driven to the edge of extinction by pollution and rampaging monsters. … It’s a high energy action book with a kick ass female lead named Maya who’s not only fighting off colossal creatures but embarking on a journey to find the mythical last source of pure water.”
Today on his Facebook page, Wiebe posted up a brand new picture for the book (seen above), featuring the main character sitting upon the body of a dead robotic dragon. The main thing to notice about the image is that it is colored by Owen Gieni, the book’s colorist. It’s different for Rossmo, as he usually colors his own work (such as with “Green Wake”) and has a more static style, but he promises more linear work for the book and the colors by Gieni really help to establish that change in his art from what we’ve previously seen.
We anxiously anticipate the arrival of this series and imagine you’ll quite like it too. The series comes in July, and we’ll be sure to share more of the book when we can.
