Via AIPT, Vault Comics have announced they will publish “Wifwulf” (stylized as “Wifwvlf”), a werewolf story by writer/artist Dailen Ogden, and co-writers Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing. Set in Montana during the 1860s, the book follows Charity Bjornsdotter, a young woman who spends her days in the forests, and whose best friend is a wolf named Silver Slash.

When her fiancé forcibly separates them, Charity “begins to feel a call to the wilds… for it is there that her true destiny awaits. ‘Wifwulf’ is the harrowing tale of a woman forcibly separated from that which makes her feel alive, a reinterpretation of the classic werewolf myth… and the origin story of a new goddess.”

The book was launched on Kickstarter on October 14, where it was fully funded within a day. Vault editor-in-chief Adrian Wassel said, “‘Wifwulf’ is riveting — a dance of grace and brutality that will move any reader, but especially those who’ve found the courage to piece themselves back together after being hurt. I’m so honored to join the pack. Howl with us.” Ogden commented, “Vault has long been a champion of unique and high quality books, and their backing allows us to put ‘Wifwulf’ into many more hands.”

“Wifwulf” will be published sometime in mid-2022. The Kickstarter campaign will continue until November 13, and those who pre-order the book there will receive various exclusives like “an exclusive foil cover, merch, and campaign-specific signed bookplates that will not be available in the direct market.”
