In an attempt to entrench himself as the most overexposed creator in comics, Mark Millar will be guest-editing an upcoming issue of the soon-to-be relaunched Wizard Magazine in July according to Bleeding Cool. Rich Johnston has an entertaining idea of what will happen in said issue, but I can tell you what: this still won’t get me to buy the magazine, more than likely.
In the time we’re in, there just isn’t a lot of purpose to a comic magazine of Wizard’s nature. All of the news and opinion pieces you get from them you can get much faster from CBR, Newsarama, ComicsAlliance, The Weekly Crisis, or hell, ourselves. While it was a huge thrill to read it when I was younger, there simply were not any other options then. I may buy this issue simply to see what their relaunch looks like and to see if they figured out a way to make their medium viable again, but I feel as if it may turn out to be more morbid curiosity than anything.
