Wolverine returned from the grave back in “Marvel Legacy” #1, the issue that kicked off the Legacy relaunch back in October 2017. When Wolverine returned he was in possession of an Infinity Stone. Since then, Wolverine has continued to do his own thing, first in several “Hunt for Wolverine” one-shots and miniseries that ran from April to August of this year. These have culminated in the currently running “Return of Wolverine” miniseries, written by Charles Soule and illustrated by Steve McNiven and Declan Shalvey. In that time, Marvel has also been publishing books with Old Man Logan (a version of Wolverine from a dystopic future) and X-23 (a female, teenage clone of Wolverine). Wolverine made a brief appearance in “Infinity Countdown,” the event that Duggan and Aaron Kuder’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” run funneled into. He surrendered his Infinity Stone to the newly resurrected Black Widow in that series, and hasn’t been seen since in the event or its continuation “Infinity Wars.” “Infinity Wars,” also written by Duggan and illustrated by Mike Deodato, will wrap up in December. Duggan and MacDonald are set to pen a one-shot near the finale of “Infinity Wars” called “Infinity Wars: Fallen Guardian.”

The original group calling themselves the Infinity Watch debuted in the aftermath of the first ‘Infinity’ event and starred in a series called “Warlock and the Infinity Watch,” written by Jim Starlin and illustrated by Angel Medina. Consisting of Drax, Gamora, Maxam, Moondragon, Pip the Troll, Thanos, and Adam Warlock, each member of the team held and protected one of the Infinity Gems (as they were then known). The team would become a part of the follow-up events like “Infinity War” and “Infinity Crusade,” which were also written by Starlin.

A new Infinity Watch was formed recently by Doctor Strange following “Infinity Countdown” that consisted of Strange, Adam Warlock, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, Star-Lord, and Turk Barrett. How Wolverine fits into this equation is yet to be seen, but look for the first issue of “Wolverine: Infinity Watch” in February.
