Announced at WonderCon, Jason Aaron will be writing a five-issue event-esque story, X-Men: Schism, starting this summer. The story sees ideas from Cyclops and Wolverine coming into clash with one another, as both are currently leading their own X-Teams with very different ideologies. The fight will also split the X-Men as a whole, with everyone being forced to choose a side.

The series promises that just about every character ever will be making an appearance, including the return of a character from Morrison’s New X-Men who will return in a big way (Quintin Quire, maybe?) and there will be a brand new Hellfire Club, which will “buck all previous trends.”

Also: Sentinels?

On top of that, each issue will be illustrated by a different artist, with the line-up featuring Carlos Pacheco, Frank Cho, Alan Davis, Adam Kubert, Daniel Acuna. Hot diggity!

Look for more of this in the summer.

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
