As part of the ongoing ‘Dawn of DC’ event, DC Comics have announced “Wonder Woman” and “The Flash” will be relaunched after their 800th issues, and details on the previously teased “Hawkgirl” and “Steelworks” series.

– “Wonder Woman” will be helmed by writer Tom King and artist Daniel Sampere, and see Diana becoming a fugitive “after a mysterious Amazonian is accused of mass murder,” prompting Congress to ban “all Amazons from American soil.” She will have to find the true culprit behind the killing, while being hunted by the Amazon Extradition Entity (AXE) task force. Issue #1 will be released in September, following a prelude in issue #800 (out June 20.)
– “The Flash” relaunch will be written by Si Spurrier with art by Mike Deodato, Jr., and take Wally West’s adventures in a cosmic horror direction, as his “evolving understanding of his powers” awaken “his senses to strange new ideas. Something whispers from the dark vibrations beyond the Speed Force, and as Wally experiments with creative new approaches to his powers, he encounters new realms, mysterious allies, and mind-shattering terrors.” Issue #1 will release in September, following a prelude in “Flash” #800 (out June 6.)
– “Hawkgirl” will be written by Jadzia Axelrod (“Galaxy: The Prettiest Star”) with art by Amancay Nahuelpan (“Crush & Lobo”). It will see Kendra Saunders head to Metropolis for a fresh start after the disbandment of the Justice League, a new life that “is quickly interrupted by a mysterious villain with a powerful connection to the Nth Metal that makes up Hawkgirl’s wings and weapons.” Issue #1 will be released on July 18.

– “Steelworks” will be penned by veteran actor/director Michael Dorn, in his comic book writing debut, and drawn by Sami Basri (“Aquamen,” “Harley Quinn”). Dorn, who is best known for playing Star Trek‘s Worf, voiced Steel/John Henry Irons in Superman: The Animated Series, and will pit the character against a terrorist seeking revenge on him and his company. It was not stated when issue #1 will be released.
Additionally, DC announced “The Flash” #800 will bring back previous Flash writers Mark Waid, Geoff Johns, and Joshua Williamson, who (along with the departing Jeremy Adams) will pen new stories featuring art by Fernando Pasarin, Oclair Albert, Todd Nauck, Carmine Di Giandomenico, Scott Kolins, and Mike Deodato Jr. “Wonder Woman” #800 will feature the conclusion of Becky Cloonan and Michael W. Conrad’s run, as well as King and Sampere’s prelude, plus art by Joëlle Jones, Jen Bartel, and more.
Finally, DC will release “The Dawn of DC Primer,” a free special written by Joshua Williamson with art by Leandro Fernandez, that will see Amanda Waller form an alliance with the DCU’s greatest villains against its heroes.
