Chip Zdarsky’s not done with Peter Parker quite yet. The recently departed “Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man” creator will join iconic Spidey artist Mark Bagley (“Amazing Spider-Man,” “Ultimate Spider-Man”) for March’s “Spider-Man: Life Story,” a miniseries that imagines what Peter Parker’s life would be like if he aged in real time.
Adventures in Poor Taste! provided details on the six issue series, which will begin during March of 1966, four years after Spider-Man’s first real-world appearance. Now college-aged, Peter Parker will spend the first chapter of his “Life Story” figuring out how the notion that “Great Power Comes With Great Responsibility” stacks up against the U.S.’s involvement in the Vietnam War.
“This is an idea I’ve had since I first started working for Marvel, something that explores the characters and the Marvel universe on a deeper level, where time changes both the characters and the world,” said Zdarsky. “Being able to span decades with [Mark Bagley] is surreal. He’s creating fresh takes on classic characters and moments in really dynamic ways.”
Each issue of the “special, high-end limited series” will cover a decade of Peter Parker’s life, leading up to the present day, and feature standard covers by Zdarsky and variants by Marcos Martin. You can learn more over at Adventures in Poor Taste!.
