Avery Hill Publishing’s intriguing lineup with Katriona Chapman and writer Ram V takes us to the heart of upcoming Image Comics series “Paradiso” about a future city come to life.

On the General Ed segment ( at 5:00 ), Paul is joined by Avery Hill Publishing’s Katriona Chapman to talk about the UK publisher’s intriguing comics lineup, its history as a comics press, and its upcoming releases. We touch on works like Tillie Walden’s “End of Summer,” Rachael Smith’s “Artificial Flowers,” and Steven Tillotson’s “Epic Adventures of Untitled Ape.” Find out more about Avery Hill at and B. Then, (at 29:30 ) the Comics Syllabus is excited to preview an upcoming Image comic, “Paradiso,” with its writer, Ram V (at or ). “Paradiso” features art by Dev Pramanik, colors by Dearbhla Kelly & Alex Sollazzo, and letters by Aditya Bidikar, and introduces a richly textured sci-fi story about a city of the future, a city vast and complex enough to be not only setting but character as well, as it seeks to understand its inhabitants. Ram talks to us about how his protagonist Jack Kryznan brings us into Paradiso City, breaking through its outer barriers and into its heart. Images that go with this in-depth discussion are below, and you can find “Paradiso” at  coming out December 6th, 2017 (so preorder at your local shops now!)
