Hello and welcome to Orbital In Conversation – the podcast of Orbital Comics in central London! We’re very excited to join the team here at Multiversity Comics as not only are they an excellent group of people, but they share a similar level of taste and sensibility … It’s going to be a good fit.

On this week’s show, regular host Chris Thompson is joined by James & Liz for a wine-tasting under the guidance of writer Steve Orlando (Undertow, Virgil). Steve discusses the finer points of Californian pinot gris, then opens up about how he got the job on Midnighter at DC Comics, what plans he has for the series, and how his own experiences have informed the character.

This interview was conducted at an outdoor restaurant during the madness of San Diego Comic-Con International, so there is some background ambience, shall we say. It’s a little different to the norm, but then isn’t that what you’d expect of a wine-tasting podcast?

Chris Thompson

Chris Thompson emerged from the womb suckling on the teat of popular culture. He loves comics and films in equal measure (though not always together) and genuinely enjoys subtitled features, particularly French ones. When not indulging his passions, he’s working with them as a brand manager for Titan Comics – clearly not the best work-life balance one could have. In the rare moments he’s not working, Chris enjoys travel and is often headed to a festival or event of some kind. You can follow him on Twitter @popculturehound and subscribe to Pop Culture Hound via iTunes.
