Without a net this week, Mike and Greg spin the roulette wheel of comics topics and hit a few lucky numbers! First up is Heavy Metal, that magazine you’ve heard people say was really good a long time ago. Is it having a resurgence? Then comes Archie Comics, and how they are showing everyone else in comics how to give new spins on old characters (and yes, there’s some DC talk spilling out of that). But like the bouncing ball, we land on another positive topic: Stuart Immonen and the sliding scale of comic art abstraction. And what comics talk is complete without some apocryphal tales: did a well-known comic artist really dangle a DC editor out a window, Bud White-style? If so, which one? All that and lots more!

Greg Matiasevich

Greg Matiasevich has read enough author bios that he should be better at coming up with one for himself, yet surprisingly isn't. However, the years of comic reading his parents said would never pay off obviously have, so we'll cut him some slack on that. He lives in Baltimore, co-hosts (with Mike Romeo) the Robots From Tomorrow podcast, writes Multiversity's monthly Shelf Bound column dedicated to comics binding, and can be followed on Twitter at @GregMatiasevich.
