It’s after Labor Day and with the summer of 2016 now officially over, it’s time for students young and not-quite-as-young to head out of the pool and back to the classroom. This transition is no different for artists, but for those living in the Baltimore area, a new alternative to the traditional art education institutions is emerging. Greg had a chance to chat with Baltimore Academy of Illustration instructor Greg Houston about his school’s mission to bring high-quality illustration instruction to a student body that may not be best served by the traditional structure (or tuition requirements) of a 3- or 4-year institution.

Greg Matiasevich

Greg Matiasevich has read enough author bios that he should be better at coming up with one for himself, yet surprisingly isn't. However, the years of comic reading his parents said would never pay off obviously have, so we'll cut him some slack on that. He lives in Baltimore, co-hosts (with Mike Romeo) the Robots From Tomorrow podcast, writes Multiversity's monthly Shelf Bound column dedicated to comics binding, and can be followed on Twitter at @GregMatiasevich.
