Greg sits down with writer/artist Ibrahim Moustafa on the eve of the release of Count, a sci-fi re-imagining of Alexandre Dumas’ classic revenge tale The Count of Monte Cristo. This book is also the first offering in a 3-book deal with Humanoids Moustafa signed with the publisher last year.

Greg talks with Ibrahim about the transition from artist to writer/artist, what part of the art process is his favorite, desert island James Bond recommendations, what three Humanoids releases he would gladly take off the publisher’s hands Criterion Closet-style, the bittorent of influences, how being a Portland-based cartoonist helped his career, and who wins when Ibrahim the writer tells Ibrahim the artist to draw crowd scenes. All that and more on today’s episode!

Greg Matiasevich

Greg Matiasevich has read enough author bios that he should be better at coming up with one for himself, yet surprisingly isn't. However, the years of comic reading his parents said would never pay off obviously have, so we'll cut him some slack on that. He lives in Baltimore, co-hosts (with Mike Romeo) the Robots From Tomorrow podcast, writes Multiversity's monthly Shelf Bound column dedicated to comics binding, and can be followed on Twitter at @GregMatiasevich.
