That’s The Issue Podcast: Exploring a Fictional World, with Mary Puppo and Mark Romero

Welcome to That’s The Issue! I’m Matt Lune, and I’ll be joined every episode by guests to discuss their love of comics by looking at the comics they love.

Joining me on this week’s episode is Mary Puppo and Mark Romero of Attic Door Media to discuss their successful Kickstarter for “Incident Report” #1! This debut issue serves as an entry point into a whole fictional world that Mary, Mark and their friend Brian Sippin have been invested in for many years. This is in part thanks to their regular tabletop RPG games in which they first forged this new superhero universe.

We discuss what it’s like to make the transition from the tabletop to the page, as well as the ins and outs of “Incident Report” #1 and its Kickstarter campaign. We also deep dive into the books that Mary and Mark love. For Mary, it’s Gail Simone’s New 52 run on “Batgirl,” and for Mark it’s “Copperhead” from Image Comics. Join us!
