Since “All-New Guardians of the Galaxy” launched earlier this year from Gerry Duggan and Aaron Kuder, it has injected a healthy dose of excitement into the franchise. In addition to Kuder, the book has had a murderer’s row of guest artists so far, like Frazier Irving and Chris Samnee. In fact, the Samnee issue received one of our highest grades of the year, so it is fair to say that we’re loving the Duggan/Kuber era thus far. This issue sees Greg Smallwood (“Dream Thief,” “Moon Knight”) joining the book, and his pages look amazing, as you can see from our exclusive preview of next week’s seventh issue of the series. This issue focuses on Drax, who is not the character I’d have lined up Smallwood with but, as evidenced below, fit nicely together.
Written by Gerry Duggan
Illustrated and Colored by Greg Smallwood
Lettered by VC’s Cory PetitDrax has long been known as “The Destroyer” – but no more! He has forsaken all violence, and sworn never to again strike another in anger! And now, guest artist Greg Smallwood joins series writer Gerry Duggan to reveal what led our boy down the road of peace!
Thanks again to Marvel for the preview, and make sure to pick up the issue on August 2!
