AHOY Comics are really doing their best to differentiate themselves from the pack by both releasing books with some non-comics backmatter, but also by embracing some ideas that you don’t see everyday. Anthologies and Bronze Age nostalgia are two ideas that certainly have their hold in comics, but aren’t exactly as ubiquitous as variant covers or crossovers. But “Bronze Age Boogie” brings those two ideas together into a book that you didn’t think you needed, but once you read, will likely be added to your pull list. We’re thrilled to share an exclusive first look at the second issue, which drops on May 8.

Cover by Alberto Ponticelli
Written by Stuart Moore and Tyrone Finch
Illustrated by Alberto Ponticelli and Mauricet
Colored by Giulia Brusco and Lee Loughridge
Lettered by Rob Steen

AHOY’s 1970s genre mashup slams into high gear! Teenage barbarian Brita finds herself transported to 1975 A.D., right in the middle of a second Martian invasion. Can her new friends—Lynda Darrk and martial arts master Jackson Li—save two Bronze Ages? Back feature: the frightening evolution of Major Ursa, the first bear in space! Plus the usual illustrated text features!

Thanks to AHOY for the preview, and make sure to pick up the issue tomorrow!
