Once, the Champions were a joke: “It’s Hercules, Iceman, Black Widow, Ghost Rider, and Angel! But why? It makes no sense!,” Kate Bishop infamously quipped in Matt Fraction and Annie Wu’s “Hawkeye.” But then Mark Waid and Humberto Ramos took the name and gave it to a new team, one who represented a hopeful new generation of heroes. The series, which Jim Zub took over writing last year and has steered through one relaunch, has lasted over 37 issues, and as the solicitation for December’s “Incoming!” teases, there are big plans for the gang in store. But for now, we must depart, and we are proud to present an exclusive preview of this year’s final issue.

The next generation made a vow to do better. Now, they have to live up to it, as the future of the Champions hangs in the balance.

Thanks to Marvel for the preview, and be sure to pick up a copy next week!
