It’s no secret: I think Supergirl is one of the best books DC is publishing that most people are overlooking. What with the ginormous “event arc” crossover now taking place (Last Stand Of New Krypton/War Of The Supermen), now is the perfect time to read a little bit of Sterling Gates’ fantastic Supergirl title.

DC’s The Source has published a preview of the latest issue:

Amidst Brainiac’s assault on New Krypton, General Zod has brandished the Legion of Super-Heroes terrorists and imprisoned them. Superboy will do his best to free them, but he’ll have to go through Supergirl first – wait, what? You read right, folks. It’s the Super-brawl you weren’t expecting, courtesy of writer Sterling Gates and artist Jamal Igle.

SUPERGIRL #51 hits 3/17.

I can’t recommend this title enough, but I did write an article about how much I love the book, so take my word for it. I can guarantee that you don’t have to have read the previous issues to get this book, and if you’re buying Adventure Comics chances are you’re going to need to get this anyway. Now’s the perfect time to hop in the title. It’s going to be a good read, and with the cast of Superboy, Supergirl, and the Legion, what more do you guys need? The answer: nothing!

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
