With ‘Fall of the Batmen,’ one of the essential questions plaguing the Bat-family since ‘Rebirth’ began is seemingly coming to a head: is Clayface able to be truly reformed? Will he stay a part of the ‘Gotham Knights?’ The story, which if you’re not reading the book may sound slight, has been one of the slower and more powerful builds over the last 18 months. James Tynion IV – joined in this issue by Miguel Mendonca – has given real pathos to Basil, and he’s approached both his heroism and his condition from nuanced, interesting angles since the story began. This issue also continues the rift between Stephanie and Tim, and Stephanie’s continued involvement with the Victim’s Syndicate. We are thrilled to share and exclusive first look at “Detective Comics” #971, due out on December 27th.
