The Star Wars universe, pre-Disney acquisition, consistently was creating new characters in, and for, its comics. Though there were still adventures featuring Leia, Luke, and Han, the comics pushed the stories into new places and allowed stories to develop that couldn’t be told on the screen, for a number of reasons. The first real hint of this in the (second) Marvel era of Star Wars comics is with Doctor Aphra. Created in the pages of “Darth Vader,” Aphra has been the breakout character of the new canon comics, so much so that she got her own ongoing series. We are thrilled to share an exclusive first look at the series’ 10th issue, which drops on Wednesday, July 26.
