Earlier this year, the return of Ominous Press was announced, with Ron Marz (“Green Lantern,” “Silver Surfer”) acting as editor in chief, as well as scripting one of the launch titles, “Dread Gods.” Joined by Tom Raney (“Uncanny X-Men,” “Stormwatch”), the book mixed elements of fantasy, ancient gods, and a post-apocalyptic setting. Our own Rowan Grover called the first installment a “fun debut issue,” and we are thrilled to share an exclusive first look at the second issue, which is due out on September 13th from IDW/Ominous.

The Ominous Press launch continues in DREAD GODS, as a pristine fantasy landscape collides with post-apocalyptic reality! The Promethean gods begin to realize they are mere pawns, trapped in dream. Their only hope for escape rests in the hands of a disabled outcast who can’t even reach them. Writer Ron Marz and artist Tom Raney are unleashed in an epic world!
