“Excalibur” has been the oddball of the ‘Dawn of X’ line, choosing to focus on magic and alternate dimensions. It sounds like this summer though, “Excalibur” is going to become central to the X-books as the mutants arm themselves with magical weapons in ‘X of Swords.’ We are pleased to present an exclusive two-page preview of next week’s issue that hints at that story, showing us a glimpse of the ancient Apocalypse recapping what’s happened so far. More than that though, we’re teased for a classic “Excalibur” character who hasn’t been spotted in this run yet: Opal Luna Saturnyne. The Omniversal Majestrix has a lot to do with Otherworld and tells us that even as “Excalibur” becomes more central to the ongoing “X-Men” story, it’s not going to lose the weirdness and wonder that make it “Excalibur.”
