Howard Chaykin’s “Midnight of the Soul” was announced at New York Comic Con back in 2012, and little has been heard about the project since – until this week, when the book was solicited by Image for a June release. Our pals at Image have provided us with an exclusive extended look at the first issue – the first three pages appear in the June ‘Previews’ catalog, but pages 4-7 can only be seen here.

MIDNIGHT OF THE SOUL #1 (OF 5)
STORY / ART / COVER: HOWARD CHAYKIN

JUNE 8 / 32 PAGES / FC / M / $3.50

It’s 1950, and Joel Breakstone, former GI and liberator of Auschwitz, is seriously damaged goods. He hasn’t exhaled a sober breath in five years—until the sheltered life he’s created for himself unravels and he begins the long night that will change his life forever.

Thanks again to Image, and make sure to check out the book when it is released!
