Next month, DC takes readers back to the halcyon days of the aughts, the nineties, the eighties, and beyond, through the tie-ins to “Convergence,” the large event spanning two full months of DC releases. Today, we have an exclusive preview of “Convergence: Suicide Squad” #1, which focuses on the Zero Hour-era of DC Comics and, if the cover can be believed, features characters like the Cyborg Superman, Bane, Deathstroke, and more.

STARRING HEROES FROM ZERO HOUR! When Kingdom Come’s floating fortress of New Oa threatens Metropolis, it’s up to Amanda Waller to assemble a team of Metropolis’s deadliest villains to stop it.

In the New 52, aside from slimming down Amanda Waller considerably, the idea of the Suicide Squad has remained, more or less, the same. However, as much of DC’s history has been truncated, these two pages fill in the readers on some of the highlights of the Task Force X, aka the Suicide Squad, in the pre-“Flashpoint” days.

Thanks again to DC for providing us with these pages, and check out the issue when it hits stands on April 15th!
