All month, Marvel has been pairing up classic and legacy versions of their characters into “Generations” one-shots. Thor and Jane Foster, Bruce Banner and Amadeus Cho, and now Clint Barton and Kate Bishop, the Hawkeyes. Two of the most interesting characters of their respective generation, Kate and Clint really came into their own, in terms of their relationship, in Matt Fraction and David Aja’s “Hawkeye” book, and seeing them teamed here – although with a younger Clint, through comic book chicanery, will likely elicit nostalgic feelings from many of us. We’re thrilled to share an exclusive first look at the issue, which drops on August 30th.

TWO ARCHERS. ONE-SHOT. Kate Bishop, A.K.A. Hawkeye, finds herself smack-dab in the middle of a battle royal between the world’s most skilled sharpshooters — including an inexplicably young Clint Barton, A.K.A. the OTHER Hawkeye. The prize? Bragging rights for being named the best, of course — oh, and you get to stay alive! Unfortunately for Clint, several of his competitors are villains he’s taken down, making HIM a primary target. So, on top of figuring out where and WHEN she is, Kate’s got to find a way to win this little contest of skills and keep her not-so-old pal Clint out of the crosshairs… easy, peasy.

Thanks for Marvel for the preview, and make sure to pick up the book on Wednesday.
