“Green Lanterns,” under the pen of Tim Seeley, has begun to establish itself as something different than it was under Sam Humphries. Seeley seems to like putting Simon and Jessica in situations where they interact with/react to other powerful beings and, this week, introduces him to some new heroes. A few of these heroes (Firestorm*, Bulleteer) are making their ‘Rebirth’-era debuts, and one (Power Girl) appeared trapped in between worlds as recently as last week’s “Deathstroke Annual” #1. But that’s immaterial, because it is great to see Seeley embracing some of these lesser seen characters, and it adds a totally new flavor to “Green Lanterns.”

Throw in some art by Barnaby Bagenda (“The Omega Men”), and this issue suddenly gets even more interesting. We are thrilled to share an exclusive first look at “Green lanterns” #40, which hits stores on February 7th.

“INHUMAN TRAFFICKING” part one! An unassuming dating app turns dangerous for Earth’s Green Lanterns, as heroes looking for love begin to disappear around the world. Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz discover an interplanetary superhuman trafficking network preying on super-powered seekers of love and romance, but with their hearts and heads on the line, these Green Lanterns may need more than willpower to win this fight.

Thanks to DC for the preview, and make sure to pick up the issue on Wednesday!

*Firestorm appeared as a defeated hero in one panel of “Batman: The Devastator” #1.
