Coming in May, “Green Wake’s” Kurtis Wiebe and Aluisio Santos (whose fantastic art can be seen here) have a new mini-series from Image and Shadowline heading your way, entitled “Grim Leaper.” The book stars a man by the name of Lou Collins, who is stuck in a curse that repeatedly puts his soul into the body of a man who is about to die — usually in gruesome and unexpected ways. Lou has no idea why this has happened to him or what it means, but just when he has gotten used to the cyclical nature of his curse, he meets Ella, a woman stuck in the exact same situation that he’s in. And wouldn’t you know it? They just might fall in love.

It’s quite an endearing title which we’ve had a change to sneak a peek at, and it comes highly recommended. That’s why, all this week, we will be sharing teasers with you for the book. Today’s image, “”Tired Of The Rom-Com Status Quo?”, really shows off one of the core elements of the book, not just in its dismantling of traditional romantic comedy ideas and tendencies, but in that there is a lot of “death by tire” early on in the story.

Then again, why take our word for it? Today with the final teaser, we’ve got a six-page preview of the book waiting for you behind the cut.

The book hits stands May 30th with Diamond ID MAR120418 for $3.50 a pop, so get your pre-orders in and let your retailers know that you want this book. If you’re a fan of rom-com’s with a violent twist a la Shaun of the Dead, you’re going to quite love “Grim Leaper.”

Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
