Heading to Heroes Con this weekend? Then we’ve got a book for you to keep your eye out for.

Featuring words by Jeremy Holt, art by Kevin Zeigler, colors by Falynn K and design/letters by Ryan Ferrier, “After Houdini” is the self-published semi-biographical action/adventure that follows the estranged son of Harry Houdini, who — besides being the world’s most famous magician — is a covert spy for American and British Intelligence in the lead up to WWI. Given the up and coming talent behind the book featuring some of our favorite new creators, this is assuredly a book you aren’t going to want to miss. As the latest entry in Holt’s continued push into the comic industry, something I’m sure readers are more than familiar with on this site, the book is a fun read full of spy action poised to excited and thrill readers, adding another positive notch on Holt’s belt in terms of quality self-released titles.

The Heroes Con edition of the book will be a special one of a kind version of the title as well. Just for Heroes Con, the first issue of the series will be released in a special black-and-white ashcan version this weekend at Heroes Con direct from Holt and Zeigler at table AA-1212, which you can pick up for $2.99. The book will be released in color later in the month, but now is a good time get in early on the series in its initial form, and while you’ll miss out on some of that tasty Falynn K colors (featured below), hopefully the book’s sleek artwork by Ziegler and words/letters by Holt and Ferrier will be enough to get you jazzed for this upcoming series.

Here’s a preview to whet your appetite:

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
