This has been a point of contention between many fans. As we saw, Batman and Dr. Hurt both exploded and supposedly died in a helicopter explosion at the end of RIP. However, before Final Crisis was over we saw Batman kidnapped and caged with Darkseid’s minions making clones of him until he ultimately broke out and shot Darkseid. On top of that, Dr. Hurt just returned to Gotham to stake his claim on the Wayne Fortune. So what exactly happened in that helicopter explosion?

That’s what this week’s Batman seeks to eluminate in the aptly labeled “RIP: The Missing Chapter.”

Written by GRANT MORRISON – Art and cover by TONY DANIEL
