We do this every time Jeff Parker’s “Hulk” run is mentioned, but it is literally the single most underrated title Marvel is currently releasing. It’s sharply written, features fantastic art (from the likes of Gabriel Hardman, Patrick Zircher and Elena Casagrande) and is one of the few books to truly attempt to branch out in new directions with new characters as opposed to recycling classic villains. What was once a highly criticized title and character has since become a critically acclaimed one, and one could probably get away with saying that right now, the Red Hulk is cooler than the Green one.

To that end, “Hulk” is about to hit 50 issues next month, and we couldn’t be more excited to once again tell you about the book. Featuring art by Carlo Pagulayan and Dan Brereton, the issue features Rulk on a magical odyssey from the fallout of ‘Circle of Four.’ After all the innovation Parker has brought to the title, from the litany of character development to the all new rogues gallery, now is just as great a time to hop on the title as any other if you haven’t done so yet.

(And if you haven’t — why they heck not? Have you missed all those articles we’ve been putting out??)

“Hulk” #49 is in stores this week, and features the Hulk squaring off against the Eternals. Pick it up, and take a look behind the cut for a six-page unlettered preview of the landmark 50th issue, as well as three variants.

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
