A lot of people firmly believe that Ultimate Comics X #1 was the return to story telling that so many people had grown to love Jeph Loeb for. Many fans were able to say, “We forgive you for Rulk!” While I certainly wasn’t convinced of that (and less so with New Ultimates #1), Ultimate X did manage to create an intriguing first issue that was an enjoyable enough read to make me want to come back for more.

Fortunately for you all, Marvel has now posted a preview of what you can expect from the future of Ultimate X!

Who–or what–is Ultimate X? As the world comes back from the brink of destruction, those left behind struggle to find some semblance of hope. One young woman in particular–the alluring and mysterious Karen–tries to build her life back together, but seems to be hiding something…or rather running away from it. Why so serious, Karen? Maybe her dirty little secret isn’t so little, and might be the key to the mystery of the ULTIMATE X! Brought to you by Eisner award-winning writer JEPH LOEB and legendary illustrator ARTHUR ADAMS! Rated T …$3.99

The issue comes out April 7th, and will sure to make two of our writers very happy. Keep on the lookout for a review in the future.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
