Back at Image Expo, among a litany of big announcements involving big creators, the announcement of Ken Garing’s “Planetoid” coming to Image was amongst our favorite. It was basically the epitome of the Image motto: giving new creators a big platform for original and creator-owned work, and it was very interesting to see a book like “Planetoid” stand right up there with the announcement for “Happy!” and “Phongogram 3.”
Of course, when “Planetoid” #1 actually came out, it certainly didn’t disappoint. It earned two different positive reviews from us and the cover for issue #1 earned a spot on the Best Covers of the Week list, with Garing’s foray into the sci-fi wanderer story leaving us very excited for whatever was to come next. So what better way to share excitement for the upcoming issue (spoiler alert: it’s still awesome) then with a preview?
We’ve got a five page preview here for you today, with two never before seen pages:

“Planetoid #2”, written and illustrated by Ken Garing, is out next week from Image. The solicit text is as follows:
After crash-landing in a vast heap of space junk, wayward space-pirate Silas now journeys on to an area of the planetoid, known as “The Slab”. It’s rumored that human tribes eke out a living on this endless surface of fabricated metal… BUT, so do gangs of sadistic robots! Silas will have to gather information and find allies in order to make a stand against the larger tyrannical forces that control the planetoid.
