When the new ‘Sandman Universe’ line was announced, the title that least surprised people was “Lucifer.” The character and the title have long been DC/Vertigo staples, and have been “Sandman” tangential for some time as well. Dan Watters has really given the book a new tone that sets it apart from past runs, but even if the book was silent, the art of the Fiumaras, joined here by Leomacs, is among the most accomplished and expressive in comics. We are thrilled to share an exclusive first look at the eleventh issue, due out on August 21st.

Cover by Tiffany Turrill
Written by Dan Watters
Illustrated by Sebastian Fiumara and Leomacs
Colored by Dave McCaig
Lettered by Steve Wands

Lucifer is in the void. Sinking into the nothingness beneath all existence, he must decide if he even wishes to return to the world. Elsewhere: two witches commandeer a rowboat, and Caliban fills his belly.

Thanks to DC for the preview, and make sure to pick up the issue on Wednesday!
