With “Spider-Verse” about to take over Dan Slott’s run in “Amazing Spider-Man,” we edge (pun intended) ever closer towards all the prequels and tie-ins that seem to crop-up whenever there’s any kind of modern event in comics. But as we come up to “Edge of Spider-Verse,” which launches next month and consists of a series of one-shots that star a different iteration of Spider-Man, Marvel has given us a sneak peek at one of the two most anticipated issues of the series: the one starring Gwen Stacy as Spider-Woman.

Take a look at what’s going to be inside your book when you pick it up next month:

Fantastic. Marvel has been making great strides towards eschewing any kind of house-style in their books, and while most of the time we often look at pre-event minis like this with a bit of disdain towards the flimsy definition used towards “tie-in,” it looks like this issue is going to be crafted with a lot of love and care. I’ve been critical in the past of one-shots of this variety due to the filler-esque nature of it all, but damn, I do love me some Robbi Rodriquez interiors.

So, how much longer until we get a Spider-Gwen ongoing? And, depending on how long, can I just get a time machine and hop towards that future now, please?

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
