We’ve often spoken quite favorably of Tim Gibson’s “Moth City,” a book our reviewer James Johnston called “arguably the most important digital comic being published right now.” And now the world of “Moth City” is about to get a little bigger.

Spinning out of “Moth City,” Gibson will be releasing a brand new one-shot on Wednesday, February 5th entitled “The Reservoir.” A Western set during the Texas oil rush and featuring a few familiar faces, the book is designed both as the origin story of Governor McCaw and as a stand-alone story with no prior knowledge of “Moth City” required. As Gibson himself describes it, “it’s really more of an exploration of nature vs nurture, empathy, trust and family.”

To get you excited for the book, we’ve got a preview for you to enjoy in advance of the release:

The book releases on Comixology on February 5th for $2.99.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
