Debut of the cover to POP #2

We’ve long been a fan of the work of Curt Pires here at the site, wether we’re writing about early self-released books like “LP”, his Monkeybrain series “Theremin”, or even debuting comics he did about Kanye West. We’ve long been supporters of his work, and for good reason: it’s kick ass.

Of course, coming soon from Dark Horse is his new series with Jason Copland, POP, that takes place in a world where pop stars and celebrities are literally manufactured products. But when one of them escapes their original facility, everything quickly falls apart. And today, in addition to your first look at the cover to issue #2, Curt has provided us an exclusive trailer comic for the series, which you can see below.

Here are some celebratory words from Curt Pires himself:

Hi Multiversity. Curt here. Happy B Day homegurl. How you living? Good to hear. I like you a lot so here’s an exclusive “trailer” for my new comic with JASON COPLAND called POP. Here’s also the cover for number 2, just for you bae. Issue two is called Pseudologia Fantastica, there’s DMT in it, four dimensional journeys, girl on girl crowbar action— basically it’s the comic america demanded.

Happy birthday– here’s to many more.

XOXO

“POP” #1 debuts in August from Dark Horse Comics. We can’t wait.

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
