It has been a long time since we heard word on Thief of Thieves (we had assumed Image was bringing it to NYCC), but now that the book has finally been solicited for February 8th, 2012, we finally have a new look at the first issue of this series.

The idea behind the series is fairly simple: after the success of his work on the Walking Dead, Kirkman wanted to bring the writer’s room idea (something being utilized in the Buffy comics at Dark Horse) to Image for a brand new series. Bringing in Nick Spencer for the initial arc with Shawn Martinbrough on art, the book follows Conrad Paulson, a master thief on one final job as he readies himself for a new life. As far as new books for 2012 go, this is one you are assuredly going to want to pre-order.

We were given a very brief look at the book, and it looks fantastic so far, with Spencer very much channeling Kirkman in his writing. The last preview we gave you featured Conrad on the job with fantastic work from Martinbrough, and today’s new three-page preview shows how Conrad meets his partner in crime, Celia.

Check after the cut for the three-page preview and the solicit information.

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
