It is very rare that we post previews on Multiversity these days, but occasionally there are books and authors we are so excited about that we (or I) just have to. In this instance, it’s Superboy #1.

I’ve noted in the past being a big Superboy fan (I think he’s the best character in the Super-family), and Adventure Comics was a HUGE book in terms of excitement for me, what with Johns and Manapul working on the book. That book has changed into a Legion book since then, but now we have MC Favorite Jeff Lemire taking on the duties of Superboy (which we just chatted with him about). This is exciting for a number of reasons aside from what I’ve mentioned for me personally, and DC released a preview this morning of the first issue (out next week). Right out the bat I notice a light reference to Essex County, as well as an appearance by a character Lemire has been known to mention he loves, so seeing him finally get to play with that character is pretty cool.

So take a look after the jump for the first few pages of the book as well as a Cassaday variant cover!

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
