I don’t know if you’ve all caught this, but Nick Spencer is catching on in a big way in the world of comics. His Image work has led to high profile gigs writing the new Iron Man book at Marvel as well as taking over Supergirl at DC, but first, he has another DC book starting up next week: T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents with artist Cafu.

DC’s The Source blog has a preview up today, and it looks fantastic. The concept is also superb:

When a handful of people, desperately clawing at their last shred of hope are presented with the opportunity to be heroes, the offer sounds ideal. But there’s one catch. Their powers will eventually kill them.

It’s a reworking of a previous DC title with all new characters, and I can tell you this: I am definitely picking it up. The preview looks fantastic, the concept is great, and Nick Spencer is as on fire as anyone in the industry.

Plus, we get a Frank Quitely AND a Darwyn Cooke cover? Come on now.

Check out T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents #1 at your local comic book store next Wednesday.
