I think just about everyone under the sun is in agreement that, since relaunching, Valiant has been kicking a great deal of ass. Whether it is from their great treatment of past creators to the general line-up of books they’re producing, Valiant has been firing on all cylinders when it comes to the alt-superhero line that they offer.
And, after a kick-ass weekend at NYCC (where they announced the return of the original “Quantum and Woody” creators to a new book at Valiant!), they’re getting ready to keep the gravy train rolling, starting with Ming Doyle joining the ranks of Valiant creators for the new arc of “Quantum and Woody.”
We have a column here at Multiversity called Valiant (Re)visions where we regularly extol the praise of their books, but as someone who is not part of that column I will note — “Quantum and Woody” is the single most accessible relaunch of a popular superhero series that I’d never read before that I currently now read. For all their efforts, Marvel and DC have yet to come close to something that does what this book has done with tis first four issues, including reintroducing the concept and cast with a run that I’m told by old-school Valiant fans matches the tone, joy and excitement the original run did. In fact, the second Valiant announces an omnibus of the original “Quantum and Woody” run, I will put a pre-order down faster than you can do a weird goat impersonation (Taylor Swift or otherwise).
Point being: if you’re not reading this book, you really need to be. And with Ming Doyle joining your excuses are officially null and void; buy the book.
Need extra convincing? Take an exclusive first look at four pages from the upcoming issue, as well as some variant covers:

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again now reinforced: if you’re for whatever reason not reading this book, start now. Perfect jumping on point, you’ll just miss the origin story — but hey, who needs origin stories anyway, right? UNICORN HANDS!!!
“Quantum and Woody” #5 comes out November 6th. You’ve got two weeks to find the first four issues and catch-up, or two weeks to save up for it. Your choice.
